THE ILLUSION OF SUCCESS AND FAILURE

 While it is easy for us to get caught up in the illusions of success and failure, it is important for us all to remember that they are merely that – illusions.  We are divine beings experiencing a human life, and our worth cannot be determined by the amount of times we have succeeded or failed.  The people we perceive as being the most successful have often failed more times than we could ever fathom, but the one thing that they all have in common is that they tried… and when they failed, they tried again. 

I have come to the realization that some of my biggest “failures” in life were succeeding at things that seemed right at the time, but ultimately weren’t in my best interest. I also realize now that some of my greatest successes in life were those things I thought were failures at the time, but ended up working out for the best in the end.

Don’t fear failure, but trust in the universe that whatever does end up happening is exactly what needs to happen for your path to unfold before you. Love and light to you all on this journey called life, may it be everything you had hoped for and more!

LEARNING TO GO WITH THE FLOW

One thing I have learned is that life is much easier and more pleasant when we can truly allow ourselves to go with the flow.  People often say, “don’t worry, everything happens for a reason,” but we don’t always fully accept that when things don’t seem to go our way.  I know I didn’t.  For many years I struggled and did everything I could to fight the flow only to get nowhere and arrive there stressed, agitated and dissapointed. 

At a certain point something changed within me however, and I now live from a sense of inner knowing that I am always exactly where the universe needs me to be at any given moment.  Regardless of what happens in life, I know that it is just a moment in the flow of things that is bringing me to where I am supposed to go.   If I get stuck in traffic, I am stuck there because I am supposed to be there.  If things aren’t going as planned, I let go and trust that they are unfolding exactly as they should.  Through synchronicity everything always works out in the highest and greatest good of all involved, including me.  Life is much more peaceful this way. 

This doesn’t mean that I don’t work hard or sometimes get caught up in trying to achieve something.  I am just much less attached to the results and much more open to allowing the work to flow through me rather than trying to control it.  I receive much more guidance from the universe now and am more receptive to it when it comes.  The best part is that the more I have learned to let go, the more perfectly things unfold on their own. 

We can either work from our limited human minds and struggle against the current, or we can open ourselves up to infinite wisdom and go with the flow.  The choice is yours.

OCEAN BREATHING MEDITATION


Sit or lay down and get comfortable. Close your eyes and take in a few slow, deep, breaths. Breathe in peace and breathe out any tension you might have. Think about the last time you were at the beach. Remember the way the waves would roll up onto the beach and get pulled back into the sea. Remember the beautiful rhythm of the waves. In and out… in and out… just like your breath.

Imagine now that you are the ocean. Feel your body and soul become one with the vastness of the open sea. Feel all of the life within the ocean become part of you. Feel the rhythm of the ocean tides move energetically through your body. Feel the waves become one with your breath. In and out… in and out.

As you exhale, purse your lips and slowly push the waves out onto the beach with your breath. Hear the sound of the waves as they roll across the sand. When your exhale is complete, allow yourself to pause briefly just as the ocean’s waves linger on the shore for a moment before returning to the ocean. When you feel ready, slowly and gently breathe in your next breath and pull the waves back into the sea with your breath.

The objective is to breathe slowly and gently. Do only what feels comfortable to you. Allow your attention to be focused on your breath and if your mind wanders (as minds often do), just gently pull your attention back to your breath.

CLOSED EYE MEDITATION


Meditation does not need to be difficult or involved, it is simply a means of connecting yourself with the present moment. To do a closed eye meditation, just find a place where you can be comfortable and sit or lie down. Take a few deep breaths, allow yourself to relax and close your eyes.Focus your attention onto the sounds, smells and feelings around you. What sounds to you hear in the environment around you? Do they sound close, or are they from far away? What sensations do you feel on your skin? If you are outside, can you feel a breeze blowing across your body or feel sunlight on your face? Notice how it feels to have your body supported by the earth beneath you. Notice how your clothing feels against your skin. Notice how the air smells. Notice the temperature and how it makes your body feel.Please note that you could be isolated on a mountaintop or in the middle of a crowded city with all of it’s noises and it does not make the slightest difference. Just observe your surroundings, become present with them, and enjoy their beauty.

MIRROR MEDITATION


Sometimes in life we can find ourselves surrounded by negative people and the negativity they produce can often cause us stress, take our energy and even sometimes wreak havoc in our lives. Here is a meditation to help you protect yourself from the negativity of others.Sit or lie down and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths and exhale out any tension, stress or negativity that you feel within you. Notice a bright light begin to form around you until it envelops your entire body and see this light increase in brightness until it is almost blinding. Feel the heat from the light penetrate through your body and dissolve any negativity from your being. Stay with this feeling for as long as you feel necessary.Once you feel you have been completely purified, allow this light to fill you with light and love. Feel your body filling with light and love until you are so full that the area around you begins to fill as well. As the area around you fills, notice the energies begin to take the shape of a sphere around your body. See this entire sphere fill with love and light and as it becomes full notice the exterior of the sphere begin to crystallize into a mirrored surface. Know that this crystalline mirror is designed to protect you from negativity while still allowing loving energy in and allowing you to send loving energy out. It filters out only the lower frequency negative energies, bouncing them back to their source just as a mirror does with light. Leave it up to the universe to deal with the energy as it sees fit once it is on its way back to its source.

This is a meditation that you can do not only for yourself, but for others in your family as well and you can even create spheres large enough to encompass your entire home should you feel the need to do so. You can do this meditation as often as you feel necessary – from every morning, to once a week or even just on occasion.
